Who Are We?
The Noticeboard Shop is an express shopping facility offering External and Internal Notice Boards. Our three main categories are Oak Notice Boards, Maintenance-free Man-madeTimber Notice Boards & Aluminium Notice Boards. Suitable for both Internal to External applications they are available in a wide variety of finishes. All of our External Notice Boards may be post or wall-mounted; this is specified when ordering. We offer a free 30 day credit facility for Councils, Churches, Schools & Charities; clients in these categories are asked to select this option at checkout stage and will be invoiced on dispatch of goods.
How Did It Start:
The Noticeboard shop is an extension of Greenbarnes Ltd who have been supplying high quality external notice boards since 1991, Director Mike Barnes comments:
"At a local parish council meeting in 1991 there was much debate about the vexed question of obtaining quotations for the repair of the village noticeboard. The board, which was not very old, was exhibiting all the familiar symptoms; condensation, stained pinboards, sticking locks, etc. I decided there and then that there must be a better way.
What was needed was consistant quality, reliably delivered. Thus was born the first Greenbarnes noticeboard. The idea was simple. This was a scene recurring in council meetings all over the country. Local joiners were reinventing the wheel with a series of "one-off" boards. Surely it would be better for someone to consider the perennial problems, design a solution to meet the criteria and manufacture the resulting product for wider application.
Now, many years later, with countless examples in use, this product has been refined as a result of our widespread experience to form the basis of the boards illustrated here. A simple idea which has subsequently been copied, but never bettered."
